The largest food delivery platform Zomato is stepping ahead to provide a useful opportunity to the customers to receive the food just within 10 minutes after placing their order. The company is in discussions with the partners of multiple restaurants and cloud kitchen companies in the view to launch ultra-fast delivery.
The authorities of the company said that they are looking forward to initiate delivery of food within 10 minutes, and they are holding conversations with the partners of its existing restaurants. The company has also experimented with a 10-15 minute food delivery in 4 locations in Bengaluru previous year.
As per the statements claimed by an individual from the industry, the company is working on a plan for instant delivery offering, internally keeping a target to deliver in under 20 minutes according to the cuisine and location. Other staff from another restaurant and cloud kitchen operator who has also attended the experiment, has said that 10 minutes delivery has succeeded in the experiment.
The discussions for instant delivery pilot come amid the company’s decision to spend $400 million to grow the quick-commerce category in India and its cuurently happening discussions to merge with ultra-fast grocery delivery startup Blinkit. According to one of the investors of a food delivery entity, Zomato as well as Swiggy have decreased discounting in the October-December span which influenced development.
