Uniom Home Minister and BJP senior leader defended scrapping of reservations for Minorities in Karnataka. During his whirlwind tour of Karnataka on Sunday, Amit Shah said that abolishing reservations for Muslims was justified as Constitution does not allow reservations on the basis of religion.
Amit Shah fired on Congress for according reservations to Minorities just for vote bank politics.
“Our Constitution allows reservations only on the basis of caste. But Congress has allotted reservations to Minorities on religion basis as part of its vote bank politics, which is unconstitutional and irrational. BJP Karnataka government has corrected the mistake,” said Amit Shah defending Karnataka government’s decision.
Amit Shah addressed two public meetings at Raichur and Bidar as part of his tour. He also inaugurated a martyrs memorial at Gorata village near Bidar on the occasion.
