Munugode bye elections are the hot topic in Telangana politics now. All the three main parties – TRS, BJP and Congress – are using all their might and tricks to win the seat, as the results of these bye polls will dictate the future politics of Telangana. It is widely believed that whoever wins this by poll, will be the favourite in 2023 General Assembly Elections.
Thus all the major political parties are leaving no stone unturned to win in this election. This has come as a boon for voters and also leaders. Every leader, both big and small, are making moves to make the most of this bye election. While some are getting contracts and other benefits, some are bargaining for money. As a result ‘Aya Ram Gaya Ram’ culture is in full flow in Munugode.
In fact the bye election itself has been necessitated as Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy shifted loyalties to BJP from Congress. Senior TRS leader and former MP Bura Narsaiah Goud also shifted to BJP, as he was denied TRS ticket. Meanwhile second rung leader and former journalist Palle Ravi Kumar joined TRS, betraying Congress. At the village level, many party workers are getting in and out of parties, lured by money and other promises.
