Congress MP Shashi Tharoor who is contesting in grand old party’s president elections, expressed his displeasure over Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The reason for Tharoor’s anger on Gehlot is a video message released by latter in support of Mallikarjun Kharge.
Veteran Congress man Mallikarjun Kharge and Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor are contesting for the Congress party president post. The election for the post will be held on Monday, Oct 17. Results will be released on Wednesday, Oct 19. Both Kharge and Tharoor have been intensely campaigning across India. In the run up to the poll, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot urged Congress leaders to vote for Kharge. This has irked Shashi Tharoor.
Shashi Tharoor said that according to the election code of conduct, no Chief Minister or PCC president should campaign for any candidate as it might influence the voters. Firing on Ashok Gehlot for violating rules, Shashi Tharoor sought action on Rajasthan CM.
