Vijay Thalapathy and Pooja Hegde’s most awaited film Beast hit the theaters today. Here is how netizens are reacting to the action drama.

Story

Vijay, who played as Veera Raghavan is a RAW agent. The film starts with Operation Jodhpur, where Veera Raghavan has consigned a mission to abduct Umar Farooq. The operation is successful, but there is a loss of a kid’s life that upsets Veera Raghava. After a few months, terrorists lay hold of an East Coast mall. They take many people hostages and demand the release of Umar Farooq. But at that time, Veera is in the same mall. The rest of the story determines how he deals with terrorists solely and saves the day.

Review

Vijay’s performance is undoubtedly the best one in the film. His mannerism is well defined and it is nice to see on his part, lifting the proceedings wherever possible. On the other hand, Pooja Hegde plays a basic supporting role in the film. Her character is too minimal. The film is a kids’ stuff, that includes mixing the elements of hostage hassle with the collaboration of terrorists.

The entire action featuring scenes looks routine and it is not at all enjoyable. Only very few comedy scenes have worked out well, and the remaining part of the film is not recommended to watch. The director has kept his focus mostly on the first half, but not on the other half, as it is tiresome to watch. There are no alluring scenes in the motion picture, even though both the stars of the film are outstanding personalities. Some of the netizens who watched the film are in bewilderment that how Pooja Hegde had accepted for this project with her very small portion.

Technical Aspects

The background music scored by the musician Anirudh Ravichander is well, but there is no high elevation in the music. And out of the entire music, Halamathi Habibo’s song has captured the audience’s attention. The cinematography done by Manoj Paramahamsa is an amazing ball for the viewers’ eyes, and the editing works possessed by R Nirmal are extraordinary.

Plus Points

  • Vijay’s performance
  • First half
  • Few comedy scenes

Minus Points

  • Pooja Hegde’s character
  • second half
  • Dull story, which looks routine
  • Some parts are silly
  • Climax

Overall Review

Overall, the film entertained the audience with an alluring first half, but the second half is a waste to watch further. Even some action parts look too dull and nothing is new to impress the audience. We can say, the second half is simply silly, but not mind-catching. Finally, the film is a below-average presentation that doesn’t reach expectations as well.
