Former Chief Minister and BJP’s stalwart BS Yediyurappa’s son BY Vijayendra is all set to contest from Shikaripura constituency. Veteran Yediyurappa represented Shikaripura in Karnataka Assembly and he is staying away from contest this time.
BY Vijayendra is seen as the political successor of BS Yediyurappa by everyone in Karnataka state. Vijayendra took care of Yediyurappa’s activities during latter’s tenure as CM. In fact many-a-time Yediyurappa faced criticism, as his distractors complained that BY Vijayendra is acting as a shadow CM and interfering in governance.
Inspite of criticism, BS Yediyurappa has been strongly backing his son. He has even publicly announced that Vijayendra is his political successor. Vijayendra is a shrewd guy and already displayed his political acumen by winning several bye-elections for BJP in Karnataka. Now he is all set to contest from his father’s seat Shikaripura in Assembly elections.
