The upcoming film “Devil,” starring Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, is set to release on the 29th of this month. However, amidst the buzz and anticipation, the spotlight has shifted towards a directorial controversy involving Naveen Medaram and Abhishek Nama.
Initially, Naveen Medaram helmed the director’s chair for “Devil.” He dedicated 105 days to shoot across diverse locations like Karaikudi, Vizag, and Hyderabad, crafting what he claims to be a significant portion of the film’s narrative. However, as production progressed, a shift occurred, with Abhishek Nama, the film’s producer, stepping in and ultimately being credited as the director.
The promotion of the film further escalated the matter. Notably, Kalyan Ram, the film’s lead actor, has conspicuously omitted any mention of Naveen Medaram in promotional activities, consistently highlighting Abhishek Nama’s role instead.
Breaking his silence, Naveen Medaram released an open statement asserting his directorial contributions. He emphasized his extensive involvement, asserting that despite the evolving dynamics, “Devil” remains a creation primarily molded by his vision and effort. While addressing the controversy, Naveen attributed the rift to “careless decisions driven by pure ego and greed.”
Despite the turmoil, Naveen Medaram extended gratitude towards Kalyan Ram, acknowledging the actor’s dedication and contributions to the film. In a countermove, the “Devil” team unveiled a video interview featuring Abhishek Nama alongside key technicians, all endorsing him as the film’s rightful director.
As the release date approaches, the film’s controversy adds an unexpected layer of intrigue, leaving audiences and industry insiders eager to witness the outcome of this directorial dispute.
