Foxconn Group has recently made a significant commitment to invest 550 million in the state of Telangana, India. This substantial investment stems from an agreement reached between Foxconn and the Telangana state government back in March of the current year. As part of this agreement, Foxconn has pledged to create an impressive one lakh jobs by establishing a state of the art electronics manufacturing unit within Telangana. Furthermore, as a promising start to this endeavor, the company aims to generate 25,000 jobs in the initial phase over the next two years.
In a recent development, a high-level delegation from Foxconn, led by its representatives, met with the Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy. During this crucial meeting, Chief Minister Reddy extended a warm welcome and assured Foxconn of the state’s unwavering support. Specifically, the government of Telangana has committed to providing all necessary assistance and support for the smooth operations of Foxconn’s manufacturing center located at Kongara Kalan. Beyond this, the state government has also expressed its readiness to support and facilitate Foxconn’s upcoming projects in the region.
The establishment of the proposed electronics manufacturing facility at Kongara Kalan holds strategic significance for Foxconn’s broader global expansion ambitions. This facility is envisioned to play a pivotal role in diversifying Foxconn’s global manufacturing base. Moreover, it will serve as a central hub for Foxconn Interconnect Technology’s operations within Telangana. Highlighting the importance of this initiative, earlier discussions between Foxconn Technology Group’s chairman, Young Liu, and the then Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, had laid the groundwork, emphasizing the company’s serious commitment and strategic intent towards enhancing its presence in the region.
