For carrying out special missions by detecting, deterring, and disrupting transnational organized criminal networks, drone manufacturer Garuda Aerospace is gearing up to provide expertise to the Indian Army. Former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant colonel in the Parachute Regiment of the Indian Territorial Army, is an ambassador as well as an investor in the low-cost drone solution provider.
The Indian Army has expressed a keen interest to use Garuda Aerospace’s expertise and technical knowledge in the field of drone technology to utilize drones more productively in modern-day warfare. With a round of funding at a valuation of USD 250 million, the company started its USD 30 million Series A recently.
The founder and CEO of the company, Agnishwar Jayaprakash said, “Garuda Aerospace has created significant traction by deploying drones for special applications to provide assistance to the Indian Army and now will be using multiple purpose drones for strategic and tactical operations. To reduce the vulnerability of Indian soldiers and manual labor involved by providing reconnaissance, Garuda Aerospace shall be analyzing the practices and propose a solution with the help of their Make in India drones.
