Telangana Government has declared holiday on Friday, September 9th, on the occasion of Ganesh idols immersion. Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Thursday issued a GO declaring the holiday. Holiday will be observed in and around twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, Ranga Reddy district, Medchal-Malkajgiri district as the Ganesh idols immersion will be held in these areas on the day. As Government decided holiday on Sep 9, it has decided to keep second Saturday of November falling on November 12th as the working day.
Thus, in view of the Ganesh Nimajjan all the schools, colleges, government offices and other private establishments will closed on Friday. Meanwhile, Government, GHMC, HMDA officials have been taking all measures for the safe immersion of Ganesh idols in Hyderabad. Besides Tank Bund, officials have made arrangements for idols immersion even in several other lakes in and around the city. Police have been on alert and taking all safety measures for the idols immersion.
