Telugu Desam Party leaders alleged that AP police are trying to save guilty in the Chennnupati Gandhi’s attack case. Opposing police negligence in the case, TDP leaders held a protest march from the party district office in Autonagar to the Patamata police station in Vijayawada. Raising slogans against YS Jagan Govt and AP Police, they burnt copies of the FIR. They complained that police are watering down the case of the assassination attempt on Chennupati Gandhi by submitting the remand report to the Court without an injury report.
On the occasion, NTR District TDP President Nettem Raghuram said that when YSRCP goons attempted to kill Chennupati Gandhi, a senior leader of TDP party and a 4-time corporator in Vijayawada, the police with a biased attitude dismissed the case as a small incident. Though doctors gave a report that the eye was injured due to the attack, the police acted in such a way as to protect the accused. In protest against the attacks on the TDP party leaders, protests are being done in all the municipalities and villages of the district. Former MP K Narayana, former Minister Kollu Ravindra, Buddha Venkanna and others took part in the protest.
