India restores five-year e-tourist visa to 156 countries

It has been a couple of years appending e-tourist visa and regular paper visa owing to Covid-19 surge. Now, India has restored all currently valid five-year e-tourist visa to the citizens of 156 countries and regular paper visa to the citizens of all countries with swift enforcement.

“All currently valid old long duration regular tourist visa rendered to citizens of the US and Japan have been restored”, said authorities. New 10-year tourist visa will also be presented to the US and Japanese citizens. The government has decided that the presently valid e-tourist visa issued for 5 years, which was suspended since March 2020, shall stand restored to the citizens of 156 countries.

According to the Visa Manual 2019, the citizens of these 156 countries will also be allowed for allotment of new e-tourist visa.The foreign nationals of all the countries have received the currently valid regular paper tourist visa which contains five years validity. The authorities said that new regular paper tourist visa, containing 5 years validity will also be presented to the citizens of the particular countries.

As permitted by the DGCA or Ministry of Civil Aviation, the foreign nationals on tourist and e-tourist visas can arrive India only through designated Sea Immigration Check Posts or Airport ICPs by flights, including those under the ‘Vande Bharat Mission’ or ‘air bubble’ scheme or by any flights.
