Flamboyant star actress Kangana Ranaut has recently faced a startling debacle with her Hindi-language action adventure Dhaakad. It ended as the worst closure at the box office. The film is directed by the debutant director Razneesh Ghai. Even the film couldn’t hook the mass audiences, being an adventure.
Before the release of the film, the audience were attracted to its trailer, but all that excitement was burned into ashes after watching the film. Many opine that the director lacks the focal point of the film and entertainment segment to attain favourable outcomes.
As per trade reports, the film has lost nearly Rs 70 crores during its theatrical run. Beside this, the latest shocker is that some top OTT platforms like Disney+Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, who usually buy flop films, have also refused to buy the film. Everyone astonishes why none has come forward to adopt Dhaakad.
As a matter of fact, these kinds of sales deals are usually closed before the release of a film itself. But Kangana had stopped the producer from selling the digital streaming rights, as she thought that selling the film after attaining success would be beneficial for the makers. But things have turned reverse and shocked the team. And sources say that the film will be sold to an OTT giant as soon as possible, but the sale price will be just pocket-sized.
