On Monday, Telangana IT minister K.T.Rama Rao brought to the notice of the Parliamentary Standing Committee On Commerce that the Centre was unjust towards Telangana, as it hasn’t kept its words spoken under the AP Recognition Act, 2014. He participated in the PSC conference which was organized by V.Vijayasai Reddy, who is a Rajya Sabha member from YSRCP. The meeting was held at the Legislative Assembly Committee hall.
He urged the Centre to transpire with a national policy on e-commerce as soon as possible. Several MPs of different states, senior authorities from the Telugu states, the Union ministry of commerce, banking, and e-commerce sectors have attended the meeting.
KTR said to committee members, “The Centre is ignoring its promises made to the state under AP Reorganisation Act. It has been concentrating only on the setting up of steel plant in Bayyaram, railway coach factory in Kazipet, National Design Centre, etc for 8 years. They have not responded to the state directorate’s iterated solicitations on stretching special industrial incentives to Telangana, granting industrial corridors, defense corridor, and funds to Kakatiya mega textile park, Hyderabad Pharma city.”
He added that the Centre should implement effective legislation on online frauds, cyber security, mobile payments, and standard internet facility. As the state has already been regarded as the primary contributor to India’s GDP, the Centre should realize that development of Telangana amounts to the development of the country.
