Lakshadweep, an archipelago boasting 36 picturesque islands, has recently garnered significant attention, notably after Prime Minister Narendra Modi showcased its beauty. Known for its iconic locations like Bangaram, Agatti, and Minicoy, the region is poised for a tourism boost.
In a move signaling confidence in Lakshadweep’s potential, Tata Group’s Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has unveiled plans for two luxurious Taj resorts set to open in 2026. The Suheli Island resort will feature 110 rooms, including 60 beachfront villas and 50 water villas, while Kadmat Island’s counterpart will comprise 110 rooms, with 75 beach villas and 35 water villas.
IHCL’s CEO, Puneet Chhatwal, emphasized Lakshadweep’s allure, highlighting its pristine beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and a spectrum of water sports activities such as scuba diving and snorkeling. Chhatwal anticipates that these world-class resorts will attract both international and domestic tourists, positioning Lakshadweep as a premier destination.
