Suffering from age-related ailments, Tollywood veteran actor Kaikala Satyanarayana passed away at a private hospital in Hyderabad, early this morning. Today is a dark day in Tollywood, losing such an iconic personality at a sudden.
As an actor, producer and a director, Kaikala started his career with the film Sipayi Koothuru (1959). He commenced his acting career as a body double to NTR in a few films before the latter himself offered Kaikala a role in Apoorva Sahasra Sireccheda Chintamani in 1960. Along with support cast and antagonist, Kaikala never looked back and went on to appear in more than 760 films in different capacities. He was last seen in 2019 film, Maharshi, which has Mahesh Babu in the lead role.
Under his production house Rama Films, Kaikala produced many movies. Kaikala received many awards like Raghupathi Venkaiah award in 2011. He ws elected as a Member of Parliament from the Machilipatnam constituency in the 11th Lok Sabha elections in 1996. He was also a member of the Telugu Desam Party.
