During the pre-release event of the movie “Animal” held at Malla Reddy University in Hyderabad on November 27, Chamakura Malla Reddy, a politician from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the Minister for Labour and Employment since 2018, made some controversial remarks. Addressing the audience, which included stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Mahesh Babu, and SS Rajamouli, Malla Reddy made a bold statement about the future of Telugu talent in the Indian film industry. He asserted that in the next five years, Telugu people would dominate not just Bollywood but also Hollywood and the entire Indian film industry. He even suggested that prominent personalities might need to shift to Hyderabad, citing it as the prime city in India due to Mumbai being “old” and Bengaluru having traffic issues. His comments, especially about Tollywood’s future dominance over Bollywood and Hollywood, led to a heavy and brutal level of trolling on social media.
