The Ministry of Health announced today that the Centre has approved the administration of Corona Virus booster doses to people aged 18 and above. Earlier, booster dose was permitted for frontline workers, Healthline workers, and those above 60 years of age with comorbidities.
Now, the Centre gave permission to the vaccine administrators to begin booster dose inoculation for 18 and above ages from the 10th of this month, through private vaccination centers. If people of such age groups complete at least 9 months after the infliction of Covid second dose can get a booster dose in all private vaccination centers. An average of 96% population in the country has received at least a single dose of vaccine.
While in the 12-14 years age group, it is 45% who received the first dose of Covid vaccine so far. According to the health ministry, India’s vaccine administration has reached the 185.38 crore mark through 2,23,73,869 spells. And in the case of children, a single dose vaccination drive has reached 2.11 crore vaccine administrations so far.
