Mani Rathnam’s periodical magnum opus Ponniyan Selvan 2 is on a rampage at box office. According to the claims of PS 2 producers, this big budget movie has grossed Rs 300 Cr, creating a record in collections.
Popular stars Aishwarya Rai, Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha and others starred in this movie based on Tamil history and heritage. Maniratnam made it in two parts. Both first and second parts of Ponniyan Selvan have been hit.
Ponniyan Selvan 2 released two weeks ago but it is still running strong in the theatres. While there is average response in Telugu and Hindi languages, it is still drawing crowds in Tamil. PS II makers are hoping that more collections will grow in the coming days.
