Story
The film is set in the year 1995. Ravi Teja, who played as Ramarao, is a revenue officer who does not allow corruption. One fine day, he meets his ex-girlfriend Rajisha Vijayan, who played as Malini. She reveals to him that her husband has gone missing and asks him to help her. Ramarao starts his investigation and finds out that many people in his village have also gone missing and all this is related to red sandalwood smuggling. Who is behind all this and how did Ramarao solve the case is the plot of the movie.
Review
Ramarao on Duty is good up to Ravi Teja’s performance, but the story of the film is quite boring and it is not at all entertaining. The entire first half went dull, but the action sequences performed by Ravi Teja in the second half are somewhat interesting. The second half showcases the investigations, made by Mass Maharaj. Ravi Teja is sincere in his role as an honest civil servant.
Venu Thottempudi’s comeback is authentic. Though he plays a negative role, he attempted well. The story is good, but it lacks a proper narration. The conflict point is not established well. Both the heroines Divyansha Kaushik and Rajisha Vijayan remain backlogs of the movie. No proper emotions and the sequences shown in the film are not real.
Technical Aspects
Production values of the film are decent and the camera work which shows the 90’s set up is well established. The entire music and background score are the minus points for the movie. Sarath Mandava has failed to execute his debut film well. The film is fully driven in serious mode, but not in entertaining mode. As there is no entertainment, the audience, as well as fans, have been disappointed to a great extent.
Plus Points
- Ravi Teja’s honest performance
- Investigative sequences
- Production values
Minus Points
- Lack of entertainment
- Heroines
- Narration
- Music
