CM Revanth Reddy is actively engaging with officials to discuss the expansion of the metro in Hyderabad. He questions the necessity of extending the metro from ORR to the airport through JV 111 area when there is already a well-established transport facility via ORR. Expressing concern about limited development in that area, he suggests prioritizing metro connectivity to the airport through Old City, proposing extensions from MGBS via Falaknuma and LB Nagar. Tenders for the airport alignment are on hold, emphasizing a focus on cost-effective routes through Mailardevpally, Jalpally, and P7 road.
Revanth emphasizes equal development across Hyderabad, advocating for satellite townships around ORR. Plans for eco-friendly mega townships on land acquired for the pharma city in Kandukur are suggested. Metro connectivity feasibility from the airport area to Thukkuguda and Srisailam road is to be examined for the mega township. Expressing displeasure over L&T benefiting without completing the 5.5 km metro line in Old City, an immediate inquiry is ordered.
In the pursuit of city development, a master plan is directed for holistic growth, incorporating road-cum-metro rail connectivity from Nagol to Gandipet along the Moosi river. The meeting, attended by Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Ponguleti, and CS, underscores the commitment to contribute to the city’s development through comprehensive planning and welfare schemes.
