TPCC President Revanth Reddy vowed to bring a separate flag and anthem for Telangana state, if voted to power in the next general elections. Speaking in Hyderabad on Monday, Revanth Reddy said, “TRS and BJP, which have no role in the history, culture, struggle and social fabric of Telangana are trying to usurp credit for Telangana’s evolution and identity. It is Congress which has played a key role in merger of Hyderabad state in India during the Independence and later delivered seprate state in 2014. Therefore the rightful credit for the Telangana in its present form belongs to Congress party.”
Revanth Reddy fired on BJP and TRS for trying to spoil Telangana culture and mislead people. He stressed that there is a need to saving and taking forward the unique identity and culture of Telangana. As apart of this effort, he said that Telangana state will have a separate flag if voted to power in 2023. He also said that ‘Jaya Jayahe Telangana’ song written by poet Ande Sri will be announced as the anthem of Telangana state.
Revanth Reddy also stressed on the need for clearing confusion over September 17. As BJP and TRS are trying to get political milage from Sep 17, Revanth said that Telangana Armed Struggle by peasants should be seen as a rebellion against Autocratic rulers and not against Muslims.
