Top stars from Kannada film industry participated in the Karnataka bandh observed on Friday. The Karnataka bandh was held protesting against the release of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu. The bandh call was given by Karnataka farmers organisations and Kannada bodies.
Shivraj Kumar, Darshan, Duniya Vijay and other stars took part in the bandh expressing solidarity to the farmers of the state. A majority of actors and technicians from Kannada film industry took part in the bandh and expressed their solidarity through social media posts.
As the tension between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka states escalated, popular star Siddarth was boycotted by Kannada activists in Bengaluru on Thursday. Siddarth, who belongs to Chennai, was in Bengaluru for a movie promotion.
