As many Uber users in India have been facing many issues with higher fuel prices, long-distance pick-ups, and payment schedules. So, to eradicate such circumstances, Uber came up with a set of changes in their policy to improve user experience.
The company reported that Uber drivers have complained about their struggles and riders complained about drivers canceling trips or not wanting to switch on the Air Conditioner.
Especially about trip cancellations, the Head of Central Operations, Uber India & South Asia said, “We are currently showing trip destinations to drivers before they commit to accepting the ride. The upfront destination feature already lives across twenty cities and will be stretched to all others.”
It is being hoped by the mobility service provider that they can curb the last-minute cancellations, with the drivers being able to view the drop location in advance. The company rolled out extra earnings for drivers to fix the long-distance pickups for drivers if they have to travel a long distance to pick up riders.
This process will be beneficial for the drivers to accept more trips and will offer comfortability to riders as trip reliability goes up. Drivers can witness the earnings for long pick-ups, separately represented on the fare receipt. Fares are quoted to the customer in advance but vary using a dynamic pricing model as per the local supply and demand at the time of bookings.
