Confusion is prevailing in Secunderabad Cantonment constituency over the bye-election. Cantonment is all set for a by-poll, as sitting MLA G Sayannna passed away recently. With a bye poll almost imminent, all political parties are making moves. But there is no clarity in the strategies of ruling BRS, which is leaving both, party cadres and people in confusion.
Late leader G Sayanna was considered a down-to-earth and amiable leader and therefore was loved by all cutting across partylines. Though he started and rose to popularity with Telugudesam party, he later joined BRS (TRS). With his death, Cantonment seat fell vacant.
Sayanna has two daughters, Lasya Nandita and Nivedita, and both are politically active. But there is no clarity from BRS High Command, whether they will be given ticket. Besides Sayanna daughters, several leaders like Manne Krishank, Gajjela Nagesh and others are trying for BRS ticket.
Cantonment is a SC-reserved constituency and to manage affairs, KCR employed Marri Rajashekar Reddy as constituency incharge. Hope Marri Rajashekar Reddy puts an end to confusion in Cantonment BRS.
