The Centre has announced that 12-14 years old children can get Covid vaccination this week, and the co-morbidity clause for administering booster doses to senior citizens would be obliterated. Covid vaccine named Biological E’s Corbevax will be administered to children of 12-14 age groups.
The vaccination drive is likely to begin today. The nationwide vaccination drive was initiated on January 16, 2021 with healthcare workers getting immunized in the first phase. And for frontline workers, the vaccination began last year, February 2nd. For the people of above 45 years with specified comorbid conditions, Covid vaccination began from March 1st. And from April 1st, last year, India launched vaccination for people over 45 years of age.
Whereas, India has begun the precaution doses for healthcare workers, frontline workers, personnel deployed for election duty and those aged 60 and above with comorbidities from 10th January, 2022. And the teens with 15-18 age groups have received the vaccination starting from January 3, 2022. And from today, March 15, the country is going to start the covid-19 vaccination drive for 12-14 age groups.
