New Criminal Laws: ‘New criminal laws coming into effect from July 1st.. No possibility of reconsideration’ 

Indian Penal Code, Indian Citizen Security Act, Indian Evidence.. The new criminal laws introduced with names will come into effect from July 1st as announced by Central Minister Arjun Meghwal. Clarifying that the center will not reconsider the new criminal laws, Central Minister of Justice Branch Arjun Ram Meghwal made a clear statement. New Delhi, June 17: Indian Penal Code, Indian Citizen Security Act, Indian Evidence.. The central minister Arjun Meghwal has announced that the new criminal laws named with names will come into effect from July 1st. He clarified that the center will not reconsider the new criminal laws in this regard. Indian Criminal Code 1860, Indian Evidence Act 1872, Criminal Procedure Code 1973 have been stated to come into effect from July 1st. 

He explained that the new laws are very crucial for the criminal justice system in the country, increasing the punishment from police custody for 15 days to 90 days for common crimes. He executed the punishment in 33 days. A penalty of 83 days was imposed by 83 days.. They entered a minimal punishment entry within 23 days. In the Indian Penal Code, he informed us that 20 days were added newly. There are a total of 358 sections in it.

Similarly, in the Indian Citizens Security Act, there are 531 sections, 177 articles, 9 sections, and 39 subsections. In Indian Evidence, there are a total of 14 sections and 170 articles. It was known that Parliament approved these laws in December 2023. In the same month, when the President gave approval, the center did not put them into practice. Revealed that these 3 crucial laws for the direct judiciary system in the country are coming into effect from July 1st, as notified by the center. On the other hand, Senior Justice Indira Jayasinghe requested to uphold these laws by writing to the Minister of Justice. Many senior justices, scholars, and intellectuals are expressing concerns on the new laws introduced by the center.
