Young hero and son of former Chief Minister Nikhil Kumaraswamy said he will stay away from active politics. Nikhil Kumaraswamy is an actor in Kannada film industry and also a third generation politician from powerful Gowda family. He is the grandson of former PM HD Deve Gowda and son of Karnataka former CM HD Kumaraswamy.
Nikhil Kumaraswamy took up films as a full time career and made his debut as a hero with Kannada-Telugu bilingual movie Jaguar in 2016. Since then he has carefully build his career as an actor in Kannada movie industry. He has acted in movies like Seetharama Kalyana, Kurukshetra and others. Though he is from a powerful political family in Karnataka, he stayed away from politics and never made any political statements. But got into politics in 2019, when he contested from Mandya Loksabha seat as Janata dal (secular) candidate.
Though hailing from an influential family, Nikhil lost in Mandya to another actor Sumalatha Ambareesh. She has contested as an independent candidate and defeated Nikhil by a huge margin. Since then Nikhil has been away from politics.
As Loksabha elections are nearing, once again Nikhil Kumaraswamy Gowda is being asked by media personnel and friends whether he will contest again. To put rest to these discussions, Nikhil gave a statement clarifying that he is not interested active politics and will focus on his movies.
